FedLearn Introduces AI for Defense Leaders Course

Oct. 21 2021

Alexandria, VA, Oct. 21, 2021—FedLearn, the first-to-market online learning platform with content specialized and contextualized for the federal government and government contractor markets, today launched a new course, “AI for U.S. Department of Defense Leaders,” designed specifically for leaders in the U.S. Department of Defense and the GovCon companies supporting the department’s mission areas.

This self-paced, interactive course provides foundational knowledge for DoD leaders and GovCon program managers and senior staff so they can connect the dots between the DoD AI Strategy, how the department plans to execute the strategy and their roles and responsibilities in the implementation. Specifically, the course covers:

  • AI and ML basics including what it is (and isn’t)
  • Data management
  • Responsible AI
  • Importance of data to DoD AI initiatives
  • Mission and areas of focus of the DoD Joint AI Center
  • DoD AI Strategy and the specific roles and responsibilities of leadership
  • DoD Ethical AI Principles

This course is the first in a larger FedLearn series with content aligned to the DoD AI Education Strategy and the specific workforce AI archetypes identified in that strategy.

“AI offers tremendous promise to the DoD, and the department is pursuing an aggressive timeline to be AI-enabled by 2025—and its leadership is critical to the success to this massive endeavor,” said J. Keith Dunbar, FedLearn founder and chief executive officer. “This new FedLearn course will advance DoD and GovCon leaders’ understanding of fundamental AI/ML and data management concepts and application to their mission areas, and how the department is carrying out the DoD AI Strategy in support of the defense and security of our nation.”
