FedLearn Launches Online Course in Algebra and Calculus Fundamentals

Alexandria, VA, April 13, 2023—FedLearn, the first-to-market, online, artificial intelligence-powered learning solutions provider offering content specialized and contextualized to federal government mission areas—particularly in the U.S. Department of Defense and Intelligence Community—announces a new course, Introductory Concepts in Algebra and Calculus. The course is part of the FedLearn AI and data science catalog.

This self-paced, online course addresses the essential concepts needed to apply basic algebraic and calculus principles when solving simple mathematic, data science and engineering problems. The course discusses:

  • The primary terms and concepts behind performing algebraic operations
  • How to execute a broad spectrum of algebraic operations by translating word problems into equations and solving those equations using algebraic principles
  • The principles of incremental change as the basis for calculus operations, both derivatives and integrals
  • How to organize and execute calculus operations for word problems based on real-world situations

“FedLearn is thrilled to launch our first course in mathematics,” said Dr. J. Keith Dunbar, FedLearn founder and chief executive officer. “Introductory Concepts in Algebra and Calculus is designed to provide learners with an excellent foundation in math to take advantage of more advanced learning opportunities in AI and data science.”

The course was developed by U.S. Air Force Colonel (Ret.) John Casserino. In addition to Col Casserino’s 30 years of experience serving in the USAF and consulting in the defense industry, he has spent the last nine years teaching advanced placement physics, programming, astronomy and geographic information systems at the high school level.

Introductory Concepts in Algebra and Calculus is included when purchasing a seat license for the entire FedLearn AI and data science catalog or can be purchased individually. Special seat license pricing is available for public- and private-sector enterprises, departments and teams. Obtain details at fedlearn.com/seat-licenses.
