Trevor Cobb is the founder of Avantia, a boutique financial advisory firm that serves as an overall advisor between ultra-high net worth families and their various bankers, investment managers, accountants and other service providers. Avantia coordinates implementation across the entire balance sheet, giving clients a holistic and truly bird’s-eye view of a family’s financial affairs through elegant reporting. Mr. Cobb has been an advisor to executives, entrepreneurs, founders, and their families for nearly two decades. Prior to establishing Avantia, he led teams at Goldman Sachs and J.P. Morgan. Earlier, he served as a decorated officer in the U.S. Army, leading teams in austere environments. Mr. Cobb is a board member of America’s Automotive Trust and the ACT Theatre Foundation. He received his Bachelor of Science in History from The U.S. Military Academy at West Point and Master of Business Administration from the Foster School of Business at the University of Washington. Mr. Cobb also completed coursework at the Swiss Banking Institute in Zürich, Switzerland.
Kevin Duffer is the founder and chief executive officer of KLD Consulting—focused on helping technology companies develop and implement Federal market strategies. Mr. Duffer possesses a comprehensive understanding of the edtech competitive landscape and cloud-based and service business models. He has worked for companies ranging in size from startups to large public organizations. During his 17-year tenure with Skillsoft, Mr. Duffer led the growth of the company’s Federal, public sector and government contracting market segments. Earlier in his career, as a senior vice president with ManTech International, Duffer helped grow the annual revenue of its training and human performance division from less than $5 million to more than $35 million. He is a U.S. Navy veteran with 27 years of active and reserve service and received his Master of Science in Information Systems with a specialization in Business Technologies from The George Washington University.
Brigadier General Bobby Kinney
R.I. Kinney Associates
U.S. Air Force Brigadier General Bobby Kinney formed R.I. Kinney Associates—a defense and business consulting firm—in 2021. During his 31 years of service, Brig General Kinney has served at the Office of the Secretary of Defense, major command and numbered air force, and continues to serve in the Air National Guard. Most recently, he was missions director at the U.S. Department of Defense Joint AI Center—responsible for leading coordination activities to accelerate the annual delivery of $250 million in high-impact AI projects across the DoD. Earlier, Brig Gen Kinney commanded an intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance and attack wing, and successfully oversaw more than 5,000 ISR and strike missions in support of contingency operations around the globe. He is a career intelligence officer and was instrumental in the standup of more than 20 Air National Guard ISR units. Brig Gen Kinney served extensively within the Air Force ISR enterprise and was deployed around the world in support of contingency operations. Brig Gen Kinney received his Master of Business Administration from Webster University, Master of Strategic Studies from U.S. Army War College and Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Maine. He is a graduate of the John F. Kennedy School of Government and Wharton School of Executive Education.
Tom Nault is the co-founder and managing partner of Middlerock Partners—a collective of top-tier business and management consulting experts who work together to transform companies for the better. Mr. Nault possesses more than 40 years of professional experience and purchased his first company immediately after graduating from college in the 1980s. He sold that business to launch a venture-funded food company and then founded a food technology business that was acquired a year later. Mr. Nault spent a decade as a federal court-appointed trustee, managing federal court settlements between the federal government and private companies. He then founded Dashlight, an intellectual property and asset holding company. Dashlight purchased Open Interface North America, which was later sold to Qualcomm. Mr. Nault is a board member of several companies and non-profit organizations, including America’s Automotive Trust and Truebird. He received his B.A. with a study emphasis on Business and Industrial Design from The Evergreen State College.
Helen A. Remily
U.S. Department of the Army (Ret.)
Helen Remily retired from the U.S. Department of Army with more than 35 years of service in a wide variety of assignments, including in the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence, Army headquarters and Joint Task Force FIVE. Her last appointment was as director, Army Distributed Learning Program-responsible for program oversight and integration of DL governance, plans and policy. Prior to this assignment, Ms. Remily was director, education and training—supporting Army proponent centers and schools with staff and faculty development and distributed learning strategies. Earlier, she was chief, training development and integration, at the Army Military Intelligence Center—leading the integration of individual and collective training products based on adaptive learning techniques across the Military Intelligence Community. In addition, Ms. Remily was the senior Army representative for the DoD Strategic Debriefing Training Division. Her formal education includes graduating summa cum laude with a Master of Arts in Educational Psychology from the University of Arizona and receiving a certificate in public leadership from the Brookings Institution. She is a Harvard Senior Executive Fellow.
The Sawyer Group
Johnny Sawyer is the CEO of The Sawyer Group, a consulting firm focused on defense, intelligence and strategic management. Following a distinguished 22-year military career as a U.S. Army officer, he joined the Defense Intelligence Agency in 2001 and served in multiple positions of increased responsibility during his 20-year tenure there. In 2009, Mr. Sawyer was elevated to the Defense Intelligence Senior Executive Service. His senior executive assignments included principal deputy director for analysis; first director, Middle East/Africa Regional Center; chief, Middle East North Africa Office; chief, Defense Resources and Infrastructure Office; and senior expert for enterprise management. Mr. Sawyer’s last assignment at DIA was chief of staff. As the third ranking officer at DIA, he was the Agency’s chief operating officer—exercising broad responsibilities to ensure continued excellence while simultaneously developing plans, process improvements and strategies to prepare the Agency for future success. Mr. Sawyer’s formal education includes an MBA from Florida Institute of Technology, M.S. from National War College and Master of Military Studies from U.S. Marine Corps University.
Daniel Snyder is a marketing and business development manager at Intel Corporation focused on the premium digital content creation space and is based in Silicon Valley. He is currently driving marketing and press strategies for the upcoming Intel discrete graphics line. Prior to his current role, Mr. Snyder was Intel’s lead technical public relations and client product reviews manager—owning relationships with top technology journalists worldwide. He handled tech PR for virtually every major Intel consumer PC processor/platform launch over a decade—from the first Intel® Core™ processor family and first Intel-branded SSD drives to more challenging crisis management situations, such as product errata, leaks and technical issues. Mr. Snyder has logged hundreds of hours of print, radio and on-air television interviews including with key outlets like CNET, Engadget, Gizmodo, USA Today and The Wall Street Journal. In 2014, he was named one of the “50 Best PR People in the Tech Industry” by Business Insider. Mr. Snyder received his M.S. in Engineering Management from Stanford University and Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Columbia University.
Dr. Jim Walker is the CEO of Zoomi. Prior to his role at Zoomi, Dr. Walker was a partner at Accenture where he led the growth and strategy for a life sciences unit selling software and services. He co-founded and served as CEO of Octagon Research Solutions, which was acquired by Accenture in 2012. Dr. Walker serves as chairman of the board of directors of Myota, a cybersecurity company. He is the recipient of numerous business leadership awards, including the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award, an American Business Awards’ Stevie Award for most innovative company and the Greater Philadelphia Alliance for Capital and Technologies Enterprise Awards Technology CEO of the Year. Dr. Walker received his Doctorate in Workplace Learning from the University of Pennsylvania and his dissertation was an exploratory study on adaptability in the workplace. He received an M.S. in Environmental Science from Rutgers University, MBA from Duke University and B.S. in Science Comprehensive from Villanova University.
