The Certified DoW Responsible AI Professional (FL-CERT-AI-004) is a specialized credential in the FedLearn artificial intelligence and data certification track. It builds directly on the Certified DoW AI/Data Acumen Professional (FL-CERT-AI-001) foundational certification—preparing defense professionals to apply ethical principles to the design, development, deployment and use of AI.

Across four courses, learners will develop a working command of RAI in the U.S. Department of War—from the DoW AI Ethical Principles and their application to machine learning through the practical challenges of trust, truth and hallucinations in modern AI systems specific to the defense enterprise.

Certification Certificate

A certificate of completion, digital badge and certificant communications toolkit can be downloaded after successfully finishing all assigned courses, scoring 80 percent or higher on the graded assessments and maintaining consistent performance across all required courses (a score of 61 or higher) as determined by the FedLearn Mission Readiness Knowledge Index (please refer to the FedLearn certification FAQs to learn more).

Continuing Professional Education Credits

Learners can accrue continuing professional education credits for each of the courses required for this certification or a total of 4.75 CPEs.

Certification Term

This certification remains valid for three years from the date earned.

Maintaining the Certification

Following the certification attainment date, learners must earn 45 CPEs utilizing courses on the FedLearn platform within three years—an average of 15 credits annually, which includes a small professional ethics requirement. Recertification credits are validated using the same rigorous standards applied to the original credential.
