The FedLearn Certified DoW Generative AI Professional (FL-CERT-AI-006) is a specialized credential in the FedLearn AI/data certification track. It builds directly on the Certified DoW AI/Data Acumen Professional (FL-CERT-AI-001) foundational certification—advancing the ability of defense professionals to understand and apply GenAI in mission contexts.

Across eight courses, learners will build a working command of GenAI—from use cases, large language models and foundation models; through the distinctions between discriminative, generative and agentic AI; and the prompt engineering skills required to use these systems effectively in the defense ecosystem.

Certification Certificate

A certificate of completion, digital badge and certificant communications toolkit can be downloaded after successfully finishing all assigned courses, scoring 80 percent or higher on the graded assessments and maintaining consistent performance across all required courses (a score of 61 or higher) as determined by the FedLearn Mission Readiness Knowledge Index (please refer to the FedLearn certification FAQs to learn more).

Individual FedLearn certifications cost $199, which includes all courses required for the individual certification program and access to them for one full year.

Continuing Professional Education Credits

Learners can accrue continuing professional education credits for each of the courses required for this certification or a total of 9.5 CPEs.

Certification Term

This certification remains valid for three years from the date earned.

Maintaining the Certification

Following the certification attainment date, learners must earn 45 CPEs utilizing courses on the FedLearn platform within three years—an average of 15 credits annually, which includes a small professional ethics requirement. Recertification credits are validated using the same rigorous standards applied to the original credential.
