FedLearn Launches Online Course: Identifying Bias in Intelligence Analysis

Alexandria, VA, Feb. 15, 2024—FedLearn, the first-to-market, online, artificial intelligence-powered learning solutions provider offering content specialized and contextualized to federal government mission areas—particularly in the U.S. Department of Defense and Intelligence Community—announces a new course, Identifying Bias in Intelligence Analysis (ICAT107). The course is part of the FedLearn Intelligence Community catalog.

This self-paced, online course explores what bias is and the many different types of bias—both explicit and implicit (unconscious)—that can potentially impact intelligence analysis. Learners can put their new knowledge to practice while participating in virtual group activities to brainstorm means to prevent bias from distorting the objectivity of their intelligence analysis work.

“Everyone possesses some form of biases and the only way to mitigate these preconceptions, both professionally and personally, is to understand them,” said Dr. J. Keith Dunbar, FedLearn founder and chief executive officer. “Our new course is perfectly designed for novice and more seasoned intelligence analysts to ensure bias does not unduly influence their mindsets to ensure the impartiality of critical deliverables in support of national security and defense.”

ICAT107 is included when purchasing a seat license for the entire FedLearn Intelligence Community catalog or can be purchased individually. Special seat license pricing is available for public- and private-sector enterprises, departments and teams.
